Block a night to stop anyone booking it: when you or your family are staying, during repairs, or when you need a break. Blocked nights are closed on your booking site, and calendar sync passes them on to Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo.
Block a night
Open the calendar
Open Calendar in the sidebar.
Block it
Shift-click the night on the listing’s row, or right-click it and choose Block day. For a building, do this on the unit’s row.In the monthly view, click the day and then Block.
Blocking works one night at a time: for a longer closure, block each night.
A season with Close for arrival and Close for departure doesn’t close its nights: it only stops guests arriving or leaving on those days. A longer stay that starts before the season and ends after it can still be booked. Block the nights instead.
You can’t block a night that already has a booking: Overviu says so. Cancel the booking first if you need the night.
Block a whole building
On the calendar, right-click a night on the building’s row and choose Block whole building. Overviu blocks that night on every unit. Units that already have a booking that night are left as they are, and Overviu tells you so.
How blocked nights look
- A red ✕ is a night you blocked.
- A night blocked by calendar sync shows the site’s name instead, like “Airbnb”. Those come from the other site: free them there, not in Overviu. If you unblock one here, it comes back on the next sync.
- In the monthly view, a blocked day shows Blocked.
Unblock a night
Click the blocked night on the calendar, or right-click it and choose Unblock day. In the monthly view, click the day and then Unblock.
Blocked nights in reports
Your own blocked nights don’t count as available in reports, so blocking a week for repairs doesn’t lower your occupancy. Nights blocked by calendar sync count as booked, because they’re usually bookings on the other site.
