# Address and map

> Find the listing's address, put the pin on the door, and choose whether guests see the exact location before they book.

The address puts your listing on the map on your booking site, tells guests which town it's in, and goes in the arrival pack they get before they arrive.

For a building, set the address on the building. Its unit types use the building's address: their **Address** tab says **Managed on the building**, with a link to it.

## Steps

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the address">
    Open the listing → **Details** → **Address**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Search for it">
    In **Search for the address**, start typing the street and town. After three characters, Overviu suggests matching addresses. Pick yours: Overviu fills in the **Street address**, **City**, **State / Region**, **Postcode** and **Country code**, and moves the pin to that spot.

    Picking a suggestion only fills in the form. Nothing is saved until you click **Save address**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the details">
    Add the flat or floor in **Apartment / Unit** if there is one, and correct anything the search got wrong. **Country code** is the two-letter code, like GR, ES or US.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Put the pin on the door">
    Under **Pin on the map**, drag the pin, or click the map, to put it exactly on the door. The **Latitude** and **Longitude** follow the pin; you can also type them in.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose what guests see">
    Switch **Show exact location** on to show the pin itself on your booking site, or leave it off to show an approximate area. Click **Save address**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What guests see

| | **Show exact location** off (the default) | **Show exact location** on |
| - | - | - |
| Map on the listing page | A circle about 500 m across, near the place but not centred on it, marked "Exact location after booking". | A pin on the spot you chose. |
| Address on the listing page | The town and country only. | The town and country only. |
| After booking | The full address in the arrival pack on their booking page, once they've finished online check-in. | The same. |

The approximate area is moved by the same 50 to 300 m every time, so guests can't work out the real spot by visiting the page again.

A listing without a pin has no map on its listing page.

## When address search isn't available

If the search can't answer, you see "Address search isn't available right now" (and if it's switched off, there's no search box at all). Fill in the address by hand instead. Put the pin on the map yourself, or type the **Latitude** and **Longitude**.
