# Profile and security

> Change your name, email and password, protect your account with two-factor sign-in, and choose light or dark mode.

Your profile and sign-in belong to you, not to a team: they're the same in every team you're in. Find them in the user menu → **Settings**.

## Profile

In **Settings** → **Profile**, change your **Name** or **Email** and click **Save**. If you change your email, Overviu sends a link to the new address to verify it; until you click it, the page says **Your email address is unverified.** and offers to send the link again.

## Password

In **Settings** → **Security**, under **Update password**, enter your **Current password**, a **New password** and **Confirm password**, and click **Save**.

Forgot it? On the sign-in page, click **Forgot your password?**, enter your email and click **Email password reset link**.

## Two-factor sign-in

Two-factor authentication asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone (like Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy) each time you sign in, so a stolen password isn't enough.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Turn it on">
    In **Settings** → **Security**, under **Two-factor authentication**, click **Enable 2FA**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Overviu to your app">
    Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the setup key by hand, and click **Continue**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Enter the 6-digit code from the app and click **Confirm**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your recovery codes">
    Click **View recovery codes** and store them in a password manager. Each code signs you in once if you lose your phone. **Regenerate codes** replaces them all.
  </Step>
</Steps>

When you sign in, Overviu asks for the code from your app. Without your phone, click **login using a recovery code** and enter one of your recovery codes.

To turn it off, click **Disable 2FA**.

## Appearance

In **Settings** → **Appearance**, choose **Light**, **Dark** or **System** (follow your device). It applies straight away, on this browser.

## Delete your account

In **Settings** → **Profile**, click **Delete account**, enter your **Password** and confirm. Your account and your sign-in are deleted for good.

<Warning>Deleting your account doesn't delete your teams: it removes you from them. A team you own is left without an owner, so no one can manage its plan or its members. If others still use a team you own, don't delete your account.</Warning>
